Call for Abstracts

The Lares Social Group would like to promote the exchange of knowledge and research among professionals in the care sector. For this reason, we are launching a call for scientific abstracts.

Topics

The topic of your abstract must be related to the Congress theme (“Workforce in long term care in Europe”) and may be open to the following cross-cutting themes.

Health and Social Care
Promotion of the autonomy of the cared person and the caregiver.
Good practices in long-term care.

Team, Talent and Values
Empowerment and motivation.
Information sharing and participation within the team.
Team building and cohesion.
Values-based leadership.
Strategies to identify, enhance and share people's talent.
The community as an agent of care. How organizations can facilitate it.

Presentation formats

The following presentation formats are available: oral presentation and poster.
When submitting abstracts via the online form, authors must specify their preferred presentation format.

General Abstract Guidelines

 1. Abstract must be submitted using the web form included on this page. Abstracts sent by any other means will be rejected.

2. The language of the abstracts must be Spanish or English.

3. Abstracts must be original and unpublished.

4. In the first instance, those submitting papers must send an abstract of their work by 14th March 2022. Abstracts received after this date will not be accepted.

5. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee, which reserves the right to admit them. The Scientific Committee will notify the authors the acceptance or rejection of their abstracts by 21st March 2022.

6. Failure to comply with the aspects relating to the format of the abstract, as detailed in the section below, may result in the non-acceptance of them.

7. The presenting author of the abstract must be registered in the Congress. Otherwise, the abstract will not be considered for presentation during the Congress.

8. Authors of accepted papers are requested to send their final paper proposals by 25th March 2022. It will be an essential requirement to send the full papers in order to be able to present them at the Congress.

9. Authors whose papers have been accepted will present the abstract in the specific sessions included in the Congress programme: oral abstract session or poster session. The poster sessions will be held in the poster area set up at the Congress venue.

10. The Scientific Committee will not carry out any type of correction of the papers.

11. Only a maximum of one abstract per registration and per main author will be accepted.

12. Abstract submission implies the author's consent to its publication in the medium decided by the Congress Organising Committee.

Abstract structure

Abstract
Written abstracts should not exceed 350 words and should follow the following structure:
  • Introduction
  • Aims and objectives
  • Methodology
  • Conclusions
  • Bibliography

Final paper proposal
Final paper proposals must be submitted within a maximum presentation time of 10 minutes.
Authors of accepted papers (oral and/or poster presenters), will be provided with the technical specifications for creating and sending their posters, in the case of the poster presentation, and the details concerning the presentation in the case of the oral abstract.

Assessment criteria for abstracts

§  Structure: it must be adapted to the abstract guidelines and follow a logical and coherent order.

§  Title: it must be clear, precise and representative of the abstract.

§  Content: it must be related to the proposed topics (relevance). The novelty of the study, its applicability to practice and the compliance with the ethical principles that all researches must respect will be assessed.

§  Objectives: they must be well-defined, clear and concrete.

§  Method: it must be appropriate for the achievement of the objectives formulated. It must clearly and precisely include the following aspects of the abstract:
  • Context of the study.
  • Design.
  • Subjects or participants in the study
  • Variables collected or the dimensions studied.
  • Procedures or tools used to obtain data and their analysis.

§  Results: they must be consistent with the objectives, clear and easily interpretable.

§  Discussion or debate: should be consistent with the results presented and provide an answer to the research question posed.

§  Conclusions: should be consistent with the results and formulated clearly and briefly.

§  Bibliography. Should include the bibliographical references used.

Awards

Authors will receive a certificate of participation at the end of the Congress. In order to receive this certificate, it is required that the abstract has been presented at the Congress and the presenter is registered.
Presenting authors of oral presentations accepted will be given free registration to the congress. When submitting the abstract through the online form, you will be asked to indicate which author will present the abstract.
The Scientific Committee will choose the two best oral presentations and two best posters, which will be awarded €500 and €350 (1st and 2nd prizes of oral presentations) and €225 and €150 (1st and 2nd prizes of posters), respectively. Authors of the awarded oral presentations and posters will be also awarded a diploma.

Publication of Papers

Accepted papers will be published in the medium decided by the Congress Organising Committee.
