Giving value to the daily work they do in a vulnerable are that is continually evolving. The challenges of human resources; the life of the work teams, their leadership, communication, mediation as a tool, etc. they will be part of the work sessions. As Michael Jordan said, "talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships." We have before us a great challenge in Spain, Europe and in the world, let's live it with the passion necessary to win this match.
Dear friends, this XVI International Lares-EAN Congress is a must for all of us who believe that this sector is strategic for a better well-being of our society.
I hope you are excited, together we will build our future and we will win this championship.
Juan Ignacio Vela Caudevilla LARES President

Long-term care and the social sector in general depend on many things; however, everything is based on a pillar more important than the others are human work, human time, the human approach, and the people who make it possible.
In other words, the most important part of this sector is human resources: caregivers, social workers, nurses, technical and other personnel, the people whose every day’s goal is to work not to get rich, but to help others live their lives with dignity.
"Long-term care: Team and talent" is the theme of the XVI Lares-EAN International Congress. It is a very current issue because that is the almost unanimous answer that members of the Network give me when I ask them what is the main risk, problem and challenge in long-term care for the elderly in our immediate future.
Our joint objective is not only to discuss this important topic with colleagues and experts from Europe and other continents, it is also to find solutions, show and share good practices, examples and contribute new ideas.
In addition, the Congress will also be a great opportunity to meet other people, to see old friends and friends, to continue building our partnerships, and to gain a lot of information and experience.
Come join us in ALICANTE and be part of this unique event on long-term care at the European level!
